    Exceptional

It is a unique hotel with an incredible location. We stayed only one night and the staff at the desk upgraded us to a corner room with a view of the Alamo. Just minutes walk to Paseo de Alamo that drops you off right into the heart of the Riverwalk.

    Superb

It was close to the main tourist attractions in San Antonio (namely the Alamo and the Riverwalk). The rooms were nice and were cheaper than the other hotels close-by.

While the valet service and its flexibility (in/out privileges, parking longer than the check-out time) was nice, it always stings to pay an additional $25 for parking.

    Very good

    Urban, boutique-ish, location

Noisy ac in room, small room, too expensive

    Fabulous

I liked the interior design and the details throughout the hotel depicting the Alamo. I liked my hotel room because it was not a typical chain hotel room.

The air conditioning was a bit loud perhaps it was because we were on the top floor?? Noisy all night.

    Friendly staff.

Rooms are small and not clean. Linen smelling like body odor. Valet took along time to get vehicle and its outside not covered parking.

    Good

    Location & friendly staff..

    - limited breakfast choices - limited services (e.g. house keeping are only available during the day, laundry service is from shops outside making it unavailable on Sundays and no pick up service from the airport).

    Very good

Room was nice and very clean. Repairs had been made to springler system head on ceiling by someone that had very dirty hands and left stains that need to be cleaned up or painted over.

Staff was poor specially food service. Front deck was full of goofing off employees standing around doing nothing. Food service employees would do anything they could to keep from waiting on you. So bad that people got up and left without eating. Hallways and public places needed to be cleaned bad. Hotel allows dogs and we had a dog on the same floor that we were on and it barked alot even after 10:00pm

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful historic building. Staff was great, easy convenient valet service and breakfast was a nice buffet with friendly helpful staff. Loved the hardwood floor in our room. Much better than musty carpet. Room felt very clean and fresh. Very close to Riverwalk and the Alamo. Lots to do just a few steps away.

Wish the rooms had a microwave and little refrigerator. Would have loved to make some popcorn to have as I watched tv. Went to dinner and didn't bother with a doggie bag since I knew I had nowhere to store it once I got back to the hotel.

What a beautiful hotel! So glad I found it. Close to everything, Riverwalk, Alamo, RiverCenter Mall and shops.

Trendy interior design, look and feel .. cleanliness, spacious. Location is great.

Coffee machine could be better ... no cable tv channel ... like to have business/ financial channel during day time to keep up .... everything else exceeded expectation. Thanks.

    Exceptional

My room was comortable with a great bed, clean, quiet (except for the air conditioner which I didn't learn how to manage until my last night!) - but most of all, the staff were friendly, helpful and hospitable. This hotel is most convenient to the Riverwalk which is a block away and although city transit was most available, I found I could walk everywhere that I wanted to go - San Antonio is extremely tourist-friendly. The onsite bistro served up a good breakfast which was included in the price of my room and Cruz and his staff made me feel so at home each day. All in all, I found it a good choice for a person travelling alone.

One thing I didn't like about the location was having to walk past the tacky tourist traps (Ripley's, Wax Museum, House of Horrors etc) which seem so out of place on Alamo Plaza...but that has nothing to do with the hotels which were there first. And although the onsite Bistro 1909 was a welcoming little place to return to, I think their business might increase if something was done to make it more inviting from the street - for instance, having clean windows?

    Fabulous

The historic building has been renovated and is located in the city- center. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious bathroom, free wireless internet access.

Despite renovation 2 years ago visible signs of deterioration are present. The rooms have non-opening windows, no balcony, so there is no way to get to fresh air. The room was perfumed, which was very unpleasant. The breakfast was very humble and the breakfast room was extremely cold airconditioned. I was at breakfast with a jacket! No hotel's own parking space, and the parking lot next to the hotel costs $ 8 per 12 hours, there are cheaper ones in the city, which are further away!

We had a nice big corner room with a panoramic view of the Alamo. We had a big bathroom, comfortable bed and pillows! Room service was fast!
